Nissan this weekend unveiled the Leaf – its new battery-powered electric car. The Nissan Leaf is pitched as ‘the world’s first affordable, zero-emission car’, a bespoke EV for global sale. The range of the Nissan Leaf is more than 100 miles – enough for 70% of people’s driving requirements, says Nissan, and it can seat five adults.

There must come a point, somewhere along the line, where Aston Martin actually makes a new car. But that’s no time soon, so the new models are a further re-hash of the range with the Aston Martin DBS Carbon Edition making a début in both coupé and Volante guises. Apart from saving money on developing a new Aston Martin platform, AML are obviously saving money on employing anyone to come up with new names for their Limited Edition models.
SNOOKER ACE Ronnie O'Sullivan escaped unscathed from a car crash as he travelled home from defeat in the Dafabet World Championship final. The five-times world champion and his six-year-old son, Ronnie Jnr, were travelling in a two-seater Audi R8 sports car when it spun out of control on the M1 near Leicester at around 1.30am. Neither suffered serious injuries but they were understood to have been left "shaken" after pulling themselves out of the wreckage.
